Boo at the Zoo

Anyone been to Boo at the Zoo at the Bronx Zoo? If so, what did you think? Also, how are the crowds? I'm generally not a fan of going on the weekends because of crowds but I'm pretty sure it's the only time they have all the Halloween events.

Thanks!

Re: Boo at the Zoo

We went last year and it was really cute. I don't remember it being too crowded. We're planning on going next weekend.

Re: Boo at the Zoo

This is my cut and paste from another thread....

We are members of the zoo and go A LOT. Like 3 or 4 times a year, sometimes more. We went with friends the first weekend of October and it was NOT worth it. It was ridiculously crowded. The special stuff that they had for Boo at the Zoo (the maze, the haunted house, etc) we couldn't even do because the lines we so incredibly long. We have our route through the zoo down to a science because we go so much, but a lot of things we couldn't do because I didn't want to spend all day standing in line. The line for the monorail was backed up all the way to the camel rides, for example.

I know we're spoiled because we like to go on "off times" and aren't used to it being that packed. But I can tell you that it was crowded to the point that it really wasn't fun for the grownups, and the kids were disappointed that they couldn't do a lot of things.

I just want to add that it was VERY warm the day we went, which probably contributed to the massive crowds. Still, I would never do it again.

Re: Boo at the Zoo

we went last week and it got crowed by around 2pm, but it wasn't too bad before then, considering it is a special event. we got there for when it opened and got to the hayride a few mintues before it opened. There are soooo many things to do that you can't do them all. But, it was such a blast!!!!
