Boiling Bottles
At what month do you stop boiling bottles to sterilize them and when can you give use unboiled water for formulas?

Re: Boiling Bottles
I don't boil bottles, it's not really necessary if you are washing them in hot sudsy water.
I don't boil water for fomula either, and again, I don't believe that is necessary either. I do use bottled water or Brita though.

I don't boil them, never have. I use the dishwasher. I was baby stuff alone on high temp.

Re: Boiling Bottles
I take my used bottles and rinse them out and then have them soak in a big bowl of hot water...after about 5 feedings I wash the bottles and parts in hot, soapy water and then steralize them.
I think I may be overly cautions.

Re: Boiling Bottles
My DD is 6 mos old and we still boil everything. I boil bottles and pacifiers daily.
PS I think I have a touch of OCD.

Re: Boiling Bottles
I wash every bottle and sterilize after each use. My Dr said to sterilize up until 2 months. I don't boil the water though, we used bottled spring water.

Re: Boiling Bottles
We just use the dishwasher. More than adequate to sterilize everything. We use RTF formula, so no water involved.
For the super OCD moms.... just something to think about. Once the bottles are sterilized, as soon as they sit out in the air, they are getting whatever is floating in the air, so they technically aren't sterile anymore.... This was meant to relieve some stress about sterilizing, since it is impossible to be totally sterile, not make moms more paranoid...
