BOGUS news reporting
This may have been talked about already
But i heard on Imus about a reporter covering one of the recent Hurricanes (i forget which one)
Live in a news report a reporter was sitting in a row boat making it out to the public that the water was extremely high...
BUT flubbed when a bystander walked by revealing that the water was actually about ankle high

I saw this on the today show a couple weeks ago!!
Matt Lauer totally called the woman on it...it was so funny!
He said something like "There must be holy men near you because they appear to be walking on water!"
She was so embarrassed, but the producers insist that she was in high water and just drifted to a shallow part during the report!

This totally happened to me!!
Last winter, we went to 112 Pathmark the night before what the newscasters were saying was going to be a MAJOR storm. We normally don't go shopping for up to six weeks, so when we do, it's a power shop. Plus, it was a few days before Christmas and we were expecting company. As we're bagging our stuff, someone screams out that Channel 7 is outside and they want to interview people about the "big storm". So idiots, we head out the door with THREE shopping carts loaded to the brim with stuff. They nailed us the second we walked out the door. They kept insisting that we were stocking up for the storm but I was like "No, we don't shop for six weeks" blah, blah, blah....anyhoo Eleven O'Clock news comes on and guess who is on??? THEY TOTALLY SPUN the story that we were scared of the storm and that we were dragging three carts worth of crap home.
Needless to say, I got alot of crap from people because it was barely a flurry Couldn't live that one down!
