Boarding Your Dog
We might have to board PuppyDog next weekend. We want to go away with friends and we've been lucky because my brother always stayed with her but he's in NY. Those who have boarded - can you tell me what type of prices you have paid (I know it may be different since I'm in FL) but I was looking for an idea. Also, I asked about the schedule when they were there, bringing her own toys, blankets, and food - anything else I missed?
Thanks!

Re: Boarding Your Dog
We recently have been boarding Bella at Petsmart. I like it there and find the prices reasonable, I think about $25-30 a day. We started going to them because we put Bella in the doggie day care during the day so she can play and get exercise so that when she is kenneled at night she will be exhasted. And she is already used to going to day care because she goes about once a month and loves it. They also have lots of add ons too, You can get your dog groomed, bathed, walked, etc. You can also bring your own food and toys too.

Re: Boarding Your Dog
I am also in FL and where we board cost us $14 per day for our dog and $12 for our cat. We usually bring toys, food, blanket, treats. If we are boarding her longer than 3 days we let them give her bath, clip nails and brush so she feels like she is getting pampered.

Re: Boarding Your Dog
We board Cooper all the time... he loves it!
I always ask (when we're boarding at a new place) if there is someone there 24 hours and if not, how often do they check in and how fast can they be there if they need to be and how are they alerted if they need to get there.
I also ask about medication... some places charge extra if they need to give the dog meds (which is a concern of our b/c Cooper is on meds).
