Bluetooth
Anyone use this feature on their car? I just bought a BMW 328xi and it is one of the features. How does it work? Do I have to get a special phone?

You need a phone that is bluetooth compatible

Just need a Bluetooth enabled phone.
We have it in the Jeep and it's great.
We're going to install an aftermarket A/V receiver that's Bluetooth enabled in our Excursion as well.

Man, that bites! BMW is a pain in the arse with that stuff. (We had a 2000 BMW 330i and although it handled beautifully, the "electronic" engineering left a lot to be desired.) Between my DH and I, we've gone through 4 different Bluetooth enabled cellphones in the Jeep and never had any problems.
ETA: I'm an idiot.  Disregard my above post. I was talking with my DH about being shocked that "BMW could only use a handful of specific phones" and he explained to me that there may be a handful of phones where all the features (or most) work or are integrated with the car, but any Bluetooth phone will work. You just may not be able to use all the features like see battery or signal strength, your contact list/directory, etc.
That being said, despite the problems we had with BMW, we still loved that vehicle!!!
