blowers

talk to me about blowers.

SO said he wants a leaf blower for his birthday and i have no idea where to start. what features (if there are any) are worth buying and which do i want to stay away from.

it was such an odd request, but i guess that's like me asking for a sewing machine, yarn, or a cooking tool lol

Re: blowers

Dh just bought this one from Home Depot

He likes it because it's cordless and uses a battery so you aren't tripping on cords or having to use smelly gas.

You do have to buy the battery seperately- he already has it because he has the same brand edger- they use the same battery and charger- interchangeable.

He loves this one!

DH is very much a gear head, has every tool under the sun, and he raves about this.
The cordless feature is key

DH says the cordless edger from this brand changed his life as well.
We got one for my dad for Father's Day and my BIL also got it after seeing DH's
If you need an edger, you might want to consider it. (And you can use the battery and charger from this with the edger! They are interchangeable!)

Re: blowers

300 CFM (cubic feet per minute) is not bad as long as there isn't a huge amount of leaves. If it's just for cleaning up it should be fine. However, to have more capacity, you really need to get either a corded one, or a gas one, which changes how you use it.
I have a corded one which has a higher CFM, but I do have to drag the cord around with me.

thanks. you just convinced me to get this one... it's just for cleaning up the yard. no leaves in southern california to have to rake/blow. oh, how i miss a REAL autumn.
