Blotchy dried cheeks?

Parts of my cheeks and neck are flaky, dried, itchy and blotchy red. It's gross!

I've asked the OBGYN and she said she hasn't heard of this but I think I read somewhere that it's one of the symptoms of pregnancy.

Anyone experiencing this?

I'd go to a dermatologist if your OB doesn't know what it is... just to make sure it's not an infection that needs treatment......

Re: Blotchy dried cheeks?

Is it a rash? Can you try to see a dermatologist?

I had a raised blotchy, itchy rash on my cheek at 9 weeks. First, I tried OTC cortisone cream, which was recommended by the NP at my OB/GYN's office, but that didn't help much. I was finally able to see a dermatologist who prescribed something a little stronger. He said it probably wasn't realted to pregnancy, but he had no idea how or why this happened. It came back again several weeks later and I just used the same cream.

I have this!! Chat Icon

My OB said it's just a reaction to the hormones -- much like puberty.

My cheeks are red, kind of like excema (sp?) and bumpy and super dry. I just try and mosturize as much as I can. It helps.... kind of... but it's just ugly.

I have this on my forehead. It's so itchy. I went to the derm today and I have rosacea to begin with and he said it is being aggravated by the preggo hormones.

Re: Blotchy dried cheeks?

Anyone thinks the heat has something to do with this? It reminds me a bit of a heat rash...

Or maybe we're just too dehydrated and not drinking enough?

The hotter it gets the more I feel icky and feel like scratching which doesn't help matters!
