Blind Puppy
I'm considering adopting a blind 4 month old Shih Tzu. I know that I can take on the responsibility of training a blind puppy.
I have 3 other dogs at home right now and I worry that might be too much for him to adapt to. What do you think?

Re: Blind Puppy
I honestly don't know how he would react to the other dogs or vice versa, but I wanted to say I think it's great that you are considering adopting a special needs dog! You are a wonderful person for considering it!

Re: Blind Puppy
Good for you (and the puppy!)
Can you arrange a meeting somehow to see how the puppy reacts to your 3 dogs first?

Thanks everyone. I'm nervous about it but the thought of him being in the shelter is killing me.
That is a great idea! The puppy is approx 10 hours from us, my dogs are great in the car so it shouldn't be a problem getting them there.

Re: Blind Puppy
Someone here was considering adopting a dog that was either blind or deaf, I can't remember which. But you might be able to find the thread in a search. I know I Googled it and found a lot of great sites that detailed the best way to train and acclimate a dog with a disability.
Good luck and if you wind up adopting, please post pics!
