Blackout curtains

Do they work? Where did you get them.

I think my DS is not sleeping enough, and he is going to sleep and rising with the daylight (hello, 5am wakeup Chat Icon )

I am willing to try them, but need some recommendations.

TIA!

used alone, they don't work at all! You need to pair them with curtains or something.

I haven't found a good cheap solution yet, and not really finding it worthwhile to spend a lot on something, ds ended up sleeping just fine and it doesn't seem to do with the darkness of the room.

I have dark cherry wood blinds, plus black out curtains. Got the curtains at Kmart, blinds were here when we moved in.

After mentioning it to my mom a while back, she actually picked up a set at walmart. They work great.

Re: Blackout curtains

We have some cheap temporary accordian blackout shades, and on top of that blackout curtains. Neither by themselves are particulary good, but together they keep it pretty dark.

DS has been much better about sleeping past 6-6:30 with them.

Re: Blackout curtains

We have white wood horizontal blinds on DD's window and added blackout curtains that we got from Target. They work great together to keep her room dark in the daylight.

These are the ones I was looking at (but the blue with the stars) and was wondering if they were worth the $$$.

Thanks for all the recommendations!

Re: Blackout curtains

I opted for the 99 cent option and got black oaktag and covered the window in DD's room. Worked like a charm - she sleeps about an hour later now!
