Black appliances?
We are buying all new appliances for our kitchen, my dh is all set on black. I am not a fan, at all. Anyone have black appliances? What color cabinets do you have? Pictures would help!! Thanks! I don't like bc I feel like it looks dated, please open my eyes!

Re: Black appliances?
My sister had black appliances. She hated it. Especially the stove. She said no mater how much she cleaned it, you always saw dust. fuzz balls from paper towel or rags.
She had light wood cabinets.
i don't think anything is "dated" it's just whatever your preference is

What about the new (I think) black stainless steel. I love the look and if we ever get around to redoing our kitchen, this is what I want. Here's just one brand's look:

Black appliances?
In our condo that we rent we have light cherry cabinets and black appliances. It looks fine and black is cheaper lol. In my house we have white shaker and I preferred the look of stainless steel with those.

Oh man. We just did our kitchen in the last 2 years but if that was around when we did, my kitchen would have looked a lot different! Love it

I have that in a stove and it's just a bytch to keep clean. The stove top is black and it shows every dust, lint, speck, cat hair. It looks nice but just like a black car it's very hard to maintain but looks hot

Re: Black appliances?
We have black appliances with dark cherry wood cabinets. Our counter is black granite as well as the back splash. Any other color would make it look weird. Our fridge died recently and bought a more modern black fridge. I think I have old pics in my album. We lightened the kitchen up because it was painted a weird red color.
We have stainless steal at work. It's always dirty. Finger prints all the time and somehow the fridge got dented. It looks nice if you never cook. The stove can be a pain to clean if grease drips.

Re: Black appliances?
I'm not a huge fan of black appliances, looks kinda 90's to me. .........although depending on the cabinetry it might look okay.
Have you looked at the black stainless they have now? That might be a good compromise, they are black/granite color but stainless which, to me, is more modern.

Re: Black appliances?
I have medium oak cabinets, with a black DW, black and almond stove (front is black, top, sides and broiler drawer are almond, grates and drip trays are black), and almond fridge. A black fridge would have overwhelmed my small kitchen. My countertops are a tan, brown and black speckled quartz, backsplash a cream colored tile.
The appliances are from 1998 when I moved in, have to update them but I really don't like the look of stainless with my cabinets, and I'm not changing those.

this is soooooooo nice in person. Unfortunately we have newer stainless steel appliances but needed a new fridge and did SS. I totally would have done this if I was starting over

Re: Black appliances?
we have black/stainless appliances with Chestnut color cabinets.
Neither of us is a fan of all stainless, so we have a mix (stove and microwave are both, dw and fridge are all black)

Black appliances?
We have black appliances as that's what was in our kitchen when we bought the house. Our cabinets are a weathered off-white color. The black looks nice with the color cabinets, but DH and I both can't wait until they need to be replaced and we can put in stainless steel.
I don't find them that hard to clean though. I found my stainless steel appliances in my old apartment much harder to keep clean (little hand prints were always all over my fridge!)

Re: Black appliances?
I wouldn't do black but would do black stainless steel. We have all stainless steel in our kitchen now and i personally don't think it's too much upkeep. I have a fridge, stove top, dishwash and double ovens, all stainless. And I cook and have small children. That being said, it doesn't look spotless but I'm ok with that
