Birthday theme question--weird or not?
You may remember a previous post of mine where I was planning to do a "Kentucky Derby" type theme for Abigail's 1st. The Derby is 5/3. Long story short, we cannot have the party on that date and will be having it on 5/17. I don't really want to do that theme anymore (2 weeks late), but DH still wants to go ahead with it...evidently, the Preakness is that day. It's not like we're horse people or anything though! I'm considering a "May flowers" theme now.
So, the 2 questions: 1. Is the Derby theme odd on 5/17 and 2. Why the hell am I stressing out so much on a 1 year old's b-day party that she'll NEVER remember and which is THREE months away!!!

Re: Birthday theme question
I agree, it would have been cuter on Derby day.
What happened to the Harry Truman party? I really liked that one. It's funny.

You know, it's not as easy as it would seem finding Harry Truman paper goods! It's still in the running, though!

What?!? That's crazy!
I think I like it b/c when I was a kid my parents took us to his library on a cross country trip that I have really fond memories of.

I say do the Derby theme, it's cute and the Preakness is that say so it's not TOTALLY out of place.
I have been planning Troy's party for a few weeks now, we're actually having his party on 5/18! I want to do invites, but we're doing a progression photo one, and I really want to get at least 1 or 2 newer photos on there.

I agree. Sounds like fun! ETA: Is everyone going to be wearing a silly Derby hat?

I would do the May flowers theme...she can even wear a flower crown with long ribbons flowing!
and as a favor for the adults you can give mini potted plants
