Birthday Party Invitiations - would you be upset?

I am organizing a small birthday party for DD and inviting some close family and friends at a crafty place for kids (2 hour party).

I am friends with two girls - both of whom were in my bridal party. One is pregnant now and the other has 2 children around the same ages at my kids.

Im inviting the girl w/the kids and not inviting the girl who is pregnant. Is that wrong?

Its a 2 hour party and for the kids to make crafts etc.....It would be nice to see her and all - but I think she would be bored etc... plus she would have to travel an hour or more to the party for 2 hours and she is 7 months preggo.

Would you be upset if you were the pregnant friend?
ETS - Where do you draw the line as to who to invite and who not to?

I usually always do a seperate kiddie party and then a family party(with some close friends) at the house on another day.
I would not be upset.

My BFF had just had her baby when DDs 3rd bday came around. I still invited her to the kiddie party and she came. i would invite her and let her know she doesnt have to feel compelled to come if she doesnt want to.

I would call her up and explain it to her. That is what Maria used to do when she had parties for Laura before I had the kids.

Re: Birthday Party Invitiations - would you be upset?

DS' bday is in January. I've done house parties for his 1st & 2nd bday.
My friends who do not have kids, completley understood. His 1st Bday was just immediate family. Second Bday was close friends and my family, who, all have kids). My friends who don't have kids, understood, I simply don't have the room.
This year I'm going to try and have DS' party out at a place. I will most likely not be inviting my friends with no children, BUT, may have them over for cake or something the following weekend.
DD's bdays will be different! She's a May baby. For the house parties, I can include the friends with kids, simply because I DO have plenty of room outside. So, as of now, thats my plan.

Since you are talking about just one friend, I'd leave it in her hands.Chat Icon
