birth control for blood clotting disorders
i have the paraguard iud - it was recommended bc i was told i cannot be on birth control pills.
I've had it in for a year now - the heaviness has gotten better but i now get my period every 2-3 weeks
i have an appt with the dr in a week and a half to discuss other options and to possibly remove the iud condoms aren't an option and neither is pnp!
when i was on bcp before i found out i had a clotting issue periods were light, had almost ZERO pms symptoms and felt pretty good overall.
now with the paraguard i have really bad pms (probably what normal pms is for me) heavy longer periods and my cycles are really short.
please share what birth control methods you use if you have a clotting disorder (mine is lupus anticoagulant)
tia!

I was in the same boat as you. I didn't want to do paragaurd for the same reasons you listed. I used condoms. Most of the time...I am now pregnant! So clearly that wasn't the choice for us.
I think the only other option is a diaphragm.
Sorry I am not much help

I am not allowed to use anythign with hormones. We are winging it now cause I don't care if I get PG (actually hoping) Once we have #2 then I will look into permanent solution for DH or myself

I cannot use anything with hormones, either. BCP always made me feel pretty ******, anyway. Right now we are PNP. I am waiting until i'm 30 to be sure that i'm finished having kids (i'm pretty sure now, but not positive). Once I hit 30, I am going to try to convince DH to get snipped.

Re: birth control for blood clotting disorders
since my cycles are VERY regular, we just didnt BD around O time and it worked for years. When we were younger (pre-marriage) we used condoms.
i will have my tubes tied after this baby (most likely)
