Birch furniture and beige wall?

We have some birch furniture and I was thinking to paint the wall beige.

I feel it's NOT going to work with the color combination.

If you have birch color furniture, what color wall do you have?

We have birch colored furniture in our BR. We painted our walls BM VanCortland Blue. I think birch with beige will be too blendy and you'll lose your furniture in the walls.

I have some birch in my LR & DR and my walls are more of a gold. I'm actually not sure of the exact color since my painter got it @ BM and matched it to my old color which was a SW color but I'm going to guess it sort of like Chestertown Buff from BM. It looks very good with the birch (our wall unit) but I have lots of other color - black granite, moss green couches, and some cherry cabinets & furniture in the room as well. I have an open floor plan so it's all really one big room IMO. Sorry I dont have any pics on this computer but it works well.
