Bipartisanship making a comeback?
NPR has been running a story on the spending package designed to address drug addiction from treatment approach rather than a punitive one. Apparently it has broad bipartisan support and is expected to be signed into law by Obama.
Simultaneously, Schumer and McCain are leading a fact-based investigation into Russian interference in the election and cyber-security in general. They have said that this is "too important" to allow it to become political.
Is it possible that while our dysfunctional president-elect fills his cabinet with religious wing-nuts, bigots, big-oil climate change deniers, and inexperienced kooks who don't believe in the programs they have been selected to implement, Congress will now dial down the partisan warfare and begin to function again? All it took was a maniac in the White House
