When I was having BPP's it was to measure my fluid amounts and to check blood flow within the placenta.

Growth sono they basically measure the baby to determine size and make sure things look okay. With my DD I had several GS and BPP. The Biophysical Profiles (BPP) they measured how much fluid you had (I had excess fluid), they watch to see if the baby is practicing breathing, how active the baby is and the heartbeat.

Nope only in High Risk or if you are past your due date or if you have low fluid, high fluid or any other specific reason.
Routine pregnancy does not indicate a BPP

I had BPPs but I don't think they checked my fluid levels every time. In my case it was to check the baby's activity and heartrate.

When i have my groth sono they measure the fluid and everything while they are there just to make sure. But i'm not having weekly sono's so that may be why they do two seperate things for both.
