bikram yoga
I'm sure this was already asked before but I wanted to know if anyone has used the Bikram Yoga place in RVC....I'm really looking for something/somewhere that I can simply just relax and take time off from the daily grind. I figured why not do yoga and stimulate my mind and work out my body. I've searched for meditation places also and have come up short so if anyone knows about those also, please let me know.
Thanks!!!

Re: bikram yoga
i haven't been to the bikram place in RVC, however, i have been doing bikram for a few years now. i adore it, but it is in no way the relaxing calm yoga class. at temps of 90-100 degrees, it takes some extreme focus to get through the 90 minute class. to me, it is by far more intense than a normal yoga class, however, with the right place and teacher, the 90 minutes fly by.

Re: bikram yoga
i've been to the rego park one which (i believe) is the same owner.
I LOVE bikram, but one of the reasons i love it is because it's a vigorous yoga class, not meditative etc. and i'm sore for DAYS afterwards. I feel amazing after it but I agree with PP that it is way more extreme than vinyasa or other yoga types.

My friend goes to that location and LOVES it! I go to Hot Yoga in Massapequa and it's great...but as PP stated...not really a wind-down relaxing type of exercise program. It is intense!!! BUT I recommend it!

I agree. Lucky and I go to the same studio.
I love it there myself and wish I could go more often.
Go with an open mind, be willing to return for more than one or two classes and realize this may be one of the toughest workouts of your life, but it gets so much better once you get used to it.
And it's so okay to sit out if you need to. Most of the people where I go are beginners.
