Big girl bed?
My daughter is 3 and still in her crib. I hate it because she's big and I'm short, it's hard for me to get her in and out. Hubby doesn't want a big girl bed yet. I think he's being ridiculous. Just wanted to see what everyone else thought. I figure we'd have to child proof the doors and put the gate back on the stairs. Shes been really good when we are around but if we aren't watching her would want to be more cautious. Please let me know your thoughts of a 3 year old in a crib. Tia

Big girl bed?
Technically my 3.5 yo is still in her crib but we had converted it into her toddler bed about a year ago... We Did have a gate out in the hallway to block the stairs just in case. I can't imagine lifting a 30lb kid in and out of a crib though at this point lol. I think it's time to transfer her. We're looking to transfer her to her converted full size bed by the end of this year.

Re: Big girl bed?
My daughter is a little over 3 and still sleeps in a crib. I worry what bedtime would be like if she can just get out and walk around... I also feel guilty, like I should be switching her already.

Re: Big girl bed?
Dd will be 3 in a few weeks. She is still in her crib. Santa is bringing her peppa pig toddler bedding, and we intend to make the switch sometime this winter to the toddler bed.

Bedtime takes 2X as long. DS didn't get out of his big boy bed for a few weeks but then realized he can whenever he wants. I often wake up with him standing in front of me staring at me.

Big girl bed?
I transitioned dd shortly after her 3rd bday. She was asking for it and she seemed ready. She was waking earlier and earlier... didnt seem to get totally comfy... it was a very easy transition... And yes once she realized she could get up she would, but only in the morning... and now shes back to just calling for me... i have a gate on the stairs... but i didnt childproof anything else. I just close all the other doors and only leave my room and her room open...
You know your child best... has she been easy to transition to things... has she shown any interest?

Re: Big girl bed?
My dd is 3 and sleeping in a toddler bed. We took her out of the crib a little before she turned 2. We are buying her full size before in January. At 3 I feel they are ready for a big bed. I will put up the rails just like I did with my older daughter until she turned 5.

Re: Big girl bed?
My older DD just turned 4. We switched her to a big girl (queen sized) bed back in January, so she was a little over 3. To this day, she lays in the bed and screams for someone if she needs/wants something. We laugh because she clearly knows she can get out of her bed and her room, she's just lazy

DD got her big girl bed when she turned 2 and did fine with it
We needed the crib for baby #2 so we didn't have a choice

Hailey will only get up and get out on her own if its morning... in the middle of the night she just yells and cries for me lol shes afraid of the dark.
But we moved her to a big girl bed right after she turned 2.

Big girl bed?
My dd will be 3 in feb and I am in no rush to take her out of her crib. Yes, it means I need to help her in and out but for me it's the peace of mind knowing she's safe in her crib. I am alone in the morning when I get ready for work, so knowing I can shower and stuff in peace and not worry what chaos/mess I'll be getting up to is nice. For now dd has no interest in a bed, she loves her crib and asks To play in there during the day sometimes.

Mostly that she'd like to sleep in my bed I'd even like to put the one rail down and have a bed rail on to make the crib a toddler bed. She has a bathroom right off her room so that's one worry. I assume if she wanders it will be to my room but of course I'd have a gate on the stairs.
