Big baby??
Is there any correlation between you and/or DH born "big" ( ie 8+lbs) and the chance that your baby will be bigger too?
Just curious

Re: Big baby??
Not sure if there is fact behind it, but in our case I was 6-5 and DH was 9...My DS was 9-12 at 10 days early and DC # 2 is estimated to be at least 9lbs at birth

Re: Big baby??
Typically they say your baby's weight is roughly the average of your birth weight and your DH's. However, in my case that was not true since I had GD.

Re: Big baby??
I don't know, but I was 6lbs 7oz and dh was 10 lbs!!! and now I'm scared because it's sounding like the father's birth weight has a lot to do with it....10 LBS!!!

Re: Big baby??
i didn't think so until at 32 w I was told my baby is very big and my doc started asking us how big DH and I were when we were born and if our moms delivered us naturally.

Re: Big baby??
I was 9lbs 1 oz. Husband was 8lbs 10oz. Son was 8lbs 5oz. So I would say there is not a correlation for us.

Re: Big baby??
not for us
i was born at 8 lbs 7 oz, DH (who is now 6'2" and about 200 lbs) was born at 8 lbs 4 oz.
DS was delivered via c-section 3 days before his due date b/c it was estimated he would weigh close to 10 lbs.
he weighed 7 lbs. 10 oz. at birth
on the other hand my grandmother, who never grew past 5'2" in her life, and has probably never weighed more than 120 lbs, was a 10 lb. baby

DH was small, 6 something. I was 8 something. My first son was 9 7 and my second one was 9 1.

Re: Big baby??
I've heard this as well.
My Dh was 5.5lb, but I was 9.2lb (all my mom's children were 7.5 and up, my brother weight in over 10 lbs!!!).
So no surprise that I was told at 27.5 weeks that baby dodge is measuring big. I hope he doesn't go over 9lbs!
