Big Apple Circus - UPDATE with Review

Has anyone gone? I was wondering if I buy DD a ticket? She is 2 1/2 and are the seats really that great every where like they say? Thanks!

REVIEW:
We got there at about 5:30 and found parking right across the street. We had ringside tickets in section R8. I wouldn't recommend this area. Although it was super-close, most of the time the performers backs were to us and I was kind of P.O.ed because I paid more for those seats. When they say all seats in the house are close, they aren't lying. You can definitely see a great show sitting in the mezzanine. Now I know for next time!

Anyway...it wasn't they typical old-fashioned circus. No ringmaster, no lions, tiger or elephants, but overall it was a great time! There was a group of men doing jump rope tricks then they later did acrobatics off each other (like pyramids and stuff). There was a magician, Trapeze artists, a juggler, a rope acrobat, an animal segment with dogs, porcupine and a pig. There was a lady with three horses that honestly scared the heck out of me because I don't think the horses were cooperating and of course Grandma the Clown.
DD is 2 1/2 and she absolutely LOVED it!!! I also recommend bringing your own snacks/drinks. I didn't know if it was permitted, but it is and the snacks there were very expensive!!

I think I saw on their website that you don't need to buy a ticket for anyone under 3- they must sit on an adult's lap.

Re: Big Apple Circus

we went yesterday- definitely true that all the seats are good.

The show was about 2 hours including a 15 minute intermission that was a godsend! My ds is 18 months and for the most part liked it- I was a little disapointed that there were no elephants and no lions- just performers really- but he didnt know the difference lol. He did love the trapeze artists at the end- they were awesome!

and your dd can definitely sit on your lap so you dont have to get her a ticket.

We are going wednesday. I ended up finding a coupon code online - VALUE if anyone else wants it and got teh ringside seats for $23. I cant believe there were no animals! That was a main reason why I was taking DD - I hope she enjoys it anyway

Re: Big Apple Circus

I just took my 20 month old DD last Sunday to the circus. I personally checked to make sure that the Big Apple Circus didn't have exotic animals such as elephants, lions...etc.

The Big Apple Circus has mainly horses and dogs as the animal entertainment. The rest of the show includes jugglers, various acrobatics and skits with "grandma the clown"

If you'd like to read more about the circus, their website has a FAQ section which I found helpful.

Have a good time! My DD really enjoyed the show.
