Re: BF'ing - when did you stop and why?
are you thinking about stopping KAS? (totally a judgement from your question so I could totally be off base)
Buuuut.....If you are, then let me just say you need to do what is good for you, and makes you a happy mom. Please don't judge yourself against what other people have done.
It doesn't matter if we nursed for a week, a year, or not at all....you have to do what is good for you.
(if you aren't thinking about stopping...well then just ignore my post )

Oh I remember those days.
Well...in that case, I nursed for about 4-5 months. I had to stop because my pharmacist put me on an incorrect perscription that dried up my milk. I was planning on weaning by 6 months anyway - so I was ok with it.

Re: BF'ing - when did you stop and why?
I stopped pumping when Molly was 10 months old and used a month of freezer stash before putting Molly onto whole milk at 11 months old. I stopped pumping at that time because I had an operation and knew that it would be very hard for me to pump during those few days after.

Re: BF'ing - when did you stop and why?
Our nursing probably stopped around the end of 4 months because she stopped latching (I was pumping and nursing due to supply issues). I finally stopped pumping FT at 7 months. If all went well though I had planned to BF until my daughter self weaned but it just didn't work out that way.

Re: BF'ing - when did you stop and why?
I unfortunally stopped at 5.5 weeks because DS was rejecting the breast. I got mastsis in one of my breasts and was pumping from that one but was only getting about an ounce to two ounces on a good day and I would give him my other breast but he would be empty and still look for food sometimes so I would give him a bottle. I guess he just got use to the bottles flow so he didnt want the breast. I was ok with it because I felt like he was telling me no more mama. I only pumped for maybe a few days after that and then I pumped one time less each day so I could stop my milk supply. I would have pumped longer but DS liked to be help at that time and when he took naps it was only maybe 10-15 minutes the longer naps were on me so it was getting to be to much for me. I know what I would do differently for my child so I know I have another chance but I am glad I did it for as long as I did because I was able to experience and even though I miss that bonding he still knows I am him his mama and he isn't judging me for not going longer.

Re: BF'ing - when did you stop and why?
Benjamin was completely weaned by 13 months and 2 weeks.
I wanted to make sure that he goes from breast milk to regular milk without ever relying on formula. So, my goal was to stop when he turns one because that's when you can start regular whole milk. It did go on for a little while longer since the weaning process takes a little while and also because I took my time since I really enjoyed breastfeeding.

Re: BF'ing - when did you stop and why?
With Joseph, I stopped completely at 11 mos. 0 by then it was only morning & night, supplementing bottles in between.
With Maddie, I stopped completely at 8 mos.
Both times it was just time for me. I didn't want to continue to pump & with a toddler it was difficult to keep that up.

Re: BF'ing - when did you stop and why?
My daughter is 14 months and still nursing. I haven't made any plans to stop yet, I'm hoping she'll lost interest naturally over the next few months.

Re: BF'ing - when did you stop and why?
Claire is almost 18 months and we are still BF about 2-3 times a day and she has whole milk as well. I had hoped she would self wean around now, but she seems more attached then ever, so I may have to be a tougher and wean her soon, I feel like I am being used as a pacifier more times then not at this point. I was trying to avoid the weaning being traumatic .

Re: BF'ing - when did you stop and why?
DS is 9 months old now. I plan to stop at 12 months.......no real reason, just a goal I set for myself and a personal decision.

Re: BF'ing - when did you stop and why?
I weaned Gabriella just shy of 12 months. Actually, my body did since I was pregnant. I wanted to stop completely by 12 months anyhow.
Gianni, I'm still nursing. I'm beginning to wean though. I think 9 months will be the goal or maybe a little sooner.

Re: BF'ing - when did you stop and why?
Justin will be 14 months on June 9th and I only BF if he wakes up at night and I can't console him or if he needs comforting. He is on whole milk and I kind of feel like a human pacifer so I feel he will be weaned in a month or so. I never would have thought I would have been Bf'ing past a year but since I work and I am away from him over 12 hours a day I am so glad that we had such a wonderful BF relationship.
