Bf question about nipples lol.....
My nipples have dried crusty (yuck sorry) milk in them. I'm guessing this happens to everyone? Should I just leave it there or try to pick at it and clean them before each feeding and pumping session?

There is a lotion for that, it worked great for me, Lanolin is name.
Errrrrr..let me go look.
its also safe to put on and for baby.

I've been using this - and it's worked great for the soreness...but what i'm confused about is whether or not it is bad to have dried up milk in the nipple before feeding or pumping.

I am always hesitant to say anything for certain, since I am no doctor -but i didn't do anything special to my nipples in between feedings... and DS is a chubba healthy hunk of love!

I used to just wash my nipples with plain warm water when I noticed some crusting up.

You should put a warm washcloth on them wash away and release the dried milk. They could clog your ducts if they get bad enough.
