Re: BF moms
2 MUST haves IMO
A Nursing Mother's Companion Guide...this should go to the hospital with you.
Working Mother/Nursing Mother...if you plan to go back to work.
Both books were invaluable to me. That an KNOWING that I could do it! It took me a while but not letting non-supporters interfere in my bf efforts. Actually I ended up educating many of the women in my life on it and I consider that a good thing.
Plus a good LC's numbers. Take it with you to the hospital and call her the minute you need help. Not all hospital LC's are really good or even qualified. That was my problem at the hospital and it cost me my nursing relationship with Molly. I wish I had called a real, licensed, professional LC when I had issues.

Re: BF moms
Your hospital also probably offers a breastfeeding class. I took it and I really feel like it prepared me in so many ways. It was taught by one of the lactation consultants at the hospital so when I had a few problems after I gave birth, it was comforting to speak to her after taking the class with her.
