BF mommies... conceiving #2 while breastfeeding...
Okay, this is the last BF post for me tonight, I promise!
DH and I have been/are thinking of #2 fairly soon. I'd say definitely within a year. I'll obviously pose this at my 6 week check up next week... but if you conceived while breastfeeding, before you got your first AF, did it just happen or was it planned (if that's at all possible).
And when did you get your first AF after birth (providing you did not get pregnant prior) while BF?

I know there are many people that have gotten PG while BF. Doctors typically tell you to use birth control. If you like the BCP, there is a mini-pill to use while BF. Or just plain condoms work.
I got AF 10 months pp. But I know some girls that got AF before their babies were 2 months old. (And we were all EBF)

I didn't get AF until 12 months and 1 day after having DS, and I didn't get pg again until 2 weeks after I stopped nursing him for good.

Re: BF mommies... conceiving #2 while breastfeeding...
DD is EBF. She eats every two hours during the day but she has been sleeping from 10:30 to around 5-6am since she was six weeks old. AF just showed up at 11 weeks PP. I was shocked! I didn't even feel it coming.
From what I read, if DC is sleeping longer than 6 hours at night and eating less than every 4 hours, it is a good chance that ovulation would no longer be surpressed.

I did read that too. That seems to be around about our current situation. I guess we'll have to try and see once we get clearance!

DS is 5 months and still no AF. I have been FF alot more lately and DS is sleeping more then 6 hours a night. I'm pretty sure I may of ovulated this month, since I had a bad pain in my side yesterday that only lasted about an hour. I haven't felt that since before I was Pregnant with DS. My supply is also slowing down.

I am not sure how true this is bc DD has been sleeping for over 8 hours every night for several months, i have yet to see AF. Watch-- my luck, I will get it this week!

I have no intention of TTC while I'm EBFing so I can't help you with that, but I got AF at exactly 7 months PP.
