BF how do I stop?
I would like to ween Julia off of BF by her first birthday (July), any suggestions on how and when to start?

I BF for one year. I started to wean at 11 months when my pedi gave me the go ahead to give him whole milk in a sippy cup. I dropped on feeding at a time (at 11 months, he was only getting BF 2-3 times anyway). If I felt full, I pumped for a minute or two.

Sllllllllllllllooooowwwwwly  I weaned Alex at 6 months. I started weaning her at about 5 months. Each week I would eliminate one feeding and I would reduce each pumping session by a couple of minutes...

Yes, very slowly!! I stopped suddenly with my oldest daughter whe she was 1 year and I can tell you that the pain was intolerable, I ran a fever, it was like being in labor all over again for 2 days!! The paina nd the pressure was unreal and it doesn't let up, it just gets worse as you engorge more. The 2nd time I weaned gradually and had no problem, it took about 1 month!

When I do stop I will wean her very slowly, part of me is sad for her to stop too, but my hormones have been out of control since I started BF and I'm really looking foward to stopping. I suffer from Anexity and its just been so much worse for me since Ive been BF. I'm so emotional and stressed out.

I started weaing and I don't pump at work anymore but I do BF at night and in the morning. I have no idea how I am going to stop for good. I am not ready yet and I don't think my son is yet too!

I know! thats why I'm so scared to stop. Julia sleeps with us at night still  ( I know I should wean that too) but she still wakes up and grunts for me to BF her and I'm hoping that will stop to once I start to wean her.....this is just to confusing, I have to speak to her doctor next visit.
