BF - when did your toddler wean?
DS is 15 months and still nurses frequently, at least 4 times a day, but usually 5-6 times. When did your "enthusiastic" nurser wean? Did they self wean?

My twins self weaned at 18 and 19 months old. At that point they were only nursing at wakeup and bedtime though. My older son weaned at 13 months old.

I had to stop cold turkey with both my girls around 18-19 months. Every time I tried to lessen the nursing to just morning and night, it's like they felt the change and would go nuts and try and nurse more. Cold turkey worked well with them both, I just had to keep them busy during the day, and my DH took over at night.

DD weaned when I initiated. If she had it her way, she would probably still be EBF and she is 2! So, when it was time to wean I just diverted her attention to something fun. It worked until the last feeding. It was the 7am feeding and she was 16 months. She was biting and my nipples were in rough shape so it was time to stop. She cried for days but that was the only one.

BF - when did your toddler wean?
I did it slowly starting around 13 or 14 months. She was doing 3 sessions a day typically plus some night feedings. I cut out the day time one, then morning, and finally night. She was fully weaned right at 16 months. During the day we just got out of the house to distract her. Mornings, I had dh take over for a few days and load her up with a big breakfast before I got up. Nights stunk so I have no advice there lol.

BF - when did your toddler wean?
When I go back to work in the fall, I'm hoping to cut out the day sessions since obviously, I won't be there with him. He's obsessed with nursing!
At this point, he is very demanding when he wants to nurse. He had like a 15 minute tantrum because he had to wait to be nursed today (since we were eating dinner!) I like nursing, but I don't like him demanding it and he's not at a point where he understands "you need to wait one minute." .
