Beta numbers - twins???

On Friday I went to my RE and my beta was at 174. I went back today and I'm up to 640!!! Chat Icon

We put back 2 frosties on 7/23 so twins is def a possibility, but I had given up hope on twins based on my #'s last week - 39, 84, 174. But now it's almost 4x in just 72 hours. What do you girls think???

We go for our first sono on Wed so I guess we'll know then but would love some input to get me thru the next 48 hours!

Re: Beta numbers - twins???

My beta at 15DPO was 347 and then at 19 DPO it was 3013 and mine was only one. everyone kept saying that could be twin #s but I was still in the normal for singleton.

Re: Beta numbers - twins???

i am having twins and my betas were:

12dpo- 85
14dpo- 198
16dpo- 403

you can't always go by the beta bc some people have really high betas with a singleton and some have a low beta with twins.

Re: Beta numbers - twins???

i've heard you can tell better with progersterone numbers than beta numbers. did they test your progesterone?

congrats!!

My betas were high, too:

13 dpo - 281
15 dpo - 700

I think I had an "early implanter" - the embryo was a couple of days "older" than the norm for 13 dpo.

The important thing is that your numbers are rising beautifully! Congratulations!! Chat Icon

My progesterone was at 31 today but I'm not sure exactly how accurate that can be as I'm on PIO IM injections once a day as well as progest suppositories

Re: Beta numbers - twins???

I used this website to do my detective work before my 1st sono w/ the boys.

Betas for multiples

I stalked it and it was very helpful.

My first beta was 259 and I think my second was 695. Progesterone was 54.1 They were thinking twins and checked twice to be sure but I have just one munchkin in there. I think it could go either wayChat Icon

ETA: for me, they said the progesterone is what really made them question twins.

Re: Beta numbers - twins???

I don't think its the beta that determines twins, I thin its the progesterone level! Do you know what that is?
