Best way to Newark Airport?
I'm leaving from Newark airport for a trip next month. We live in Western Suffolk and don't want to leave our car at the airport.
I really don't want to spend $400 for limo transportation.
What is the best way to get to Newark airport?
Anyone have the number of one of those van services?

It may not be the best way, but if you want to save money and don't have a lot of bags you can take a train to the city then the Path to the Newark station. I think any car service will be pretty pricey or if a friend doesn't mind driving you.

well if you want to deal w/ the train it would be a heck of a lot cheaper.
you can take an Airtrain to Newark, just like the one that takes you to JFK. I think you can connect from the WTC to the PATH to Newark. So I guess you'd take LIRR to Penn, and connect with the 2 or 3 to WTC (Park Place stop), walk upstairs to Ground Zero and enter the PATH from there. I would check the PATH website for their airport service though just to be sure.

thanks! I worked in Jersey City, so that's why I'm just used to giving directions via WTC! (since the PATH at 34th doesn't connect directly to Jersey City)

You don't even have to leave Penn Station!!!! You take the LIRR to Penn and then NJ Transit directly to the Air Train. It's so easy so long as you don't have a lot of luggage. I used to do it all the time.

You don't even have to deal with the PATH - you can take the LIRR into Penn and then take a NJ Transit train from Penn to Newark Airport and hop on the monorail to the terminals.
If you took the PATH to Newark, you would have to switch to the NJ transit to get to the airport anyway. It's really easy.

true... I used to live in Hoboken so that's the best way I know. I actually miss the commute to the city from Hoboken... 10 mins and I was in the city. Now it's a bit longer in Long Island, but still not so bad.
