Best skiing in the Northeast?
Our boys have taken a real love for skiing. We are trying to avoid zika so we decided to do some more ski weekends.
Can you recommend places in the Northeast that are best for young beginner skiiers?
We have already gone to the Poconos twice and West Virginia. I'm thinking maybe VT or NH?
I hate cold and not a winter sports fan. DH will probably be taking boys alone while I stay home with a newborn.

I don't ski however, I happened upon on article the other day on the best skiing in the NE. VT had like 8/10 of the best skiing spots. A colleague of my DH's has always taken his kids over the years to Smuggler's Notch in VT.

Okemo. I haven't been there, but it's supposed to be nice. Check out Jackson Gore Village for rentals. Looks nice. Also Loon Mountain in NH...check out River Walk at Loon Mountain for a rental.

For kids I would definitely say Smugglers Notch or Sunday River. Love both!

For beginners, you are looking for the best ski school. I like the Berkshires... but maybe because I never thought it was worth it to commute the 6 hours to Vermont with kids!

We just went to Butternut in the Berkshires over Christmas break. We had a nice time. The ski school was great with my youngest, and my oldest with special needs took an adaptive lesson. My kids stayed in the learning area though. They have a couple of small hills and a chairlift right there along with the magic carpets. I thought the mountain was HUGE and way too advanced for them...even the green slopes were tough at times for me! Their snowtubing is extremely dangerous though, so I don't recommend that!

We go to Jiminy every year. We adore their ski school. My kids have been in it since they were 3.
