Best (regular) grocery store
In your opinion, what is the best (actual location not just company) of a regular (Stop Shop etc, NOT Fairway, Trader Joes, Whole Foods). The grocery stores in my area are really terrible, so I'm willing to drive a bit to go somewhere worthwhile in Nassau County. Biggest things for me are good produce and a clean store. TIA!

Re: Best (regular) grocery store
I like the stop an shop on old country road. I believe its Hicksville. Small enough to shop quickly but has all the necessary things. The y still have the fish market and a butcher. The produce is good. Alway liked the meat. Its really the only supermarket in my area so I don't have much to compare it too. I will on occasion go to Uncle Guisseppe or Key food if I need something quick.

How about HMart in New Hyde Park, my sister loves it because they always have a good variety of fresh vegetables and fruits, also meat and seafood.

Re: Best (regular) grocery store
I've tried so many grocery stores, and I agree with Stop and Shop in West Hempstead. It's worth the drive to me. It's big, clean, and has a huge selection. And it has a Starbucks...always a plus.

Do you mean the area by West Hempstead Stop and Shop? Yes, it is a regular community.
I mean, I'm hesitant to say anywhere on Long Island is safe with all of the crime I read about, but no, it is certainly not a high-crime area.

Best (regular) grocery store
Shop Rite-any of them are really good...for meats, I like Fairway (they really have just about anything, but more specialty) and I get certain things at Trader Joe's that I can't get anywhere else. I'm fortunate that in my area, they are all minutes from each other so I can kinda stop off all over at any time. Some weeks are more Shop Rite, some Fairway (mostly for convenience, etc.) and some staples are Trader Joe's-I think you have to figure out which has most of what you will shop for regularly. I like food shopping..LOL

Lmao! I'm the same way! Most of the things I get at Trader Joes, a few things at Whole Foods, and whatever I can't get at these 2, I get at King Kullen
And I must add, not an easy task when u have a toddler and an infant!

Yes! but we just make things work around other things we're doing and most of the time the kids are pretty good, especially if there's samples!
