You should look at the company store website. They give you a lot of info on them. I have a medium warmth one from them and it's good for cold NY weather. If you get one, make sure you get a machine washable one. I am so happy I got one that I can wash myself rather than have to pay 15? 20? to the dry cleaners every time I want to wash it.

I'm getting rid of a king size one if you need it. It's a Primaloft by Charter Club that I bought at Macy's. It's EXACTLY the same Pirmaloft that I bought at Pottery Barn for a lot more money. I just had it laundered. Let me know if you want it.

Re: best place for a down comforter? (what to look for in one?)

I heard that it's best to get one that has separate, stiched grid areas for the feathers as opposed to one where all the feathers are stuffed into the entire comforter. This way, the volume stays pretty equal throughout the whole comforter instead of all the feathers falling to the bottom. I bought a king sized one at LL Bean years ago and still have it. It was incredibly expensive...but I'm talking, 10 or so years and it's still in great condition.

I buy mine at Overstock- they have great prices. Make sure you read the reviews on the website before you pick the one you want. (Some of the really cheap ones are not of good quality.)

It's definitely worth spending a bit more for quality, since you will have it forever. Since I just change duvet covers, I still have the comforter I bought 6 years ago...and 3 more for other rooms!

thanks for the tips!!!

I did not know they even made machine washable ones....definitely better than dry cleaning.

I agree with if you are going to spend the $$, get a good one!

They just seem so warm and cuddly!!!!

We bought ours from domestications.com and it's an all weather one for summer/winter.

We have a duvet cover to go over this.

I actually researched this and used the Company Store's website to help..you should get a box one (evenly distributes) and at least a 300 thread count...we ended up with a Primaloft from Pottery Barn outlet and got a great deal on it-are using it now and so far, so good..nice and toasty and cozy...
