What was the best gift you've gotten? Doesn't have to be the most expensive. Could even be a homemade gift from DC.

Last year DS framed a letter to his family stating why he loved each of us and how lucky he was for his family. He won Christmas for sure

Best Christmas gift you've gotten?
I am a total book nerd. Always loved reading as a kid. One Christmas I got a really heavy box to open. And when I opened it, it was full of books-- baby Sitters Club, Box Car Kids, Sweet Valley High. ALL the new releases that weren't even in the bookstore yet bc my mom called the publisher and had all the new ones coming out sent to us. I swear it musta been 20 books. Best moment ever. I still feel happy thinking about it LOL

When dh and I were just dating he had a beautiful sterling silver ornament engraved for me. Right after my second daughter was born he had another one done with all of our names and it and it said Thank you for this beautiful life

Best Christmas gift you've gotten?
Ever??? My favorite Christmas gift was getting the Barbie Dream House circa 1984....nothing has ever come close to the sheer happiness of me opening it up that Christmas.

Best Christmas gift you've gotten?
This goes way back. My mom always bought my presents, but one year my dad went and got me one of the original Walkmans (back around 1980). My mom had no idea that he was getting it for me and it wasn't cheap--I think it was around $100. I remember sitting there Christmas morning with it, taking turns listening, and being amazed such small headphones could make the music sound so good.
My dad died a couple of years later and that was the only Christmas present he specifically went out and bought for me, so it meant a lot.

A puppy. I was always the kid who asked for a dog every. single. year.
Finally one year my parents said they had to give me my gift on Christmas Eve - they had been out for awhile that morning - It had been to pick up the puppy!!!

I got a puppy Christmas Eve when I was 12 it's amazing!! I'll never forget it.

The best gift was a nokia cellphone. I literally cried, I was so excited to be able to play snake.

Our christmas tree fell and my glass ball baby ornament shattered. I was heart broken.
My uncle found a replica of that ball but a foam and silk one that looks EXACTLY the same. He gave it to me the following christmas. It was the most heartfelt gift I ever received from him.

i don't remember how old i was... maybe 6 or 7.
santa called the house and asked me what i wanted (i knew it was my dad, but i played along). i asked for a record player.
on christmas eve, santa left our gifts out in the middle of the street because we didn't have a chimney for him to come down. after the gifts were given to each recipient, i was able to open a big box with a white, plastic record player inside.
the next morning, i played EVERY.SINGLE. record we owned; everything from salsa to read along books. i played that thing non-stop for the longest time!

When I was 10, my sister got me a tshirt and mug with a picture of me superimposed with the new kids on the block. You would think I was actually there with them for the pic - that's how much I loved it
