Best accessories for teaching a toddler to swim?

What is best to teach a young child to swim?
A. Arm Floaties
B. Life Vest
C. Padded shirts

Swim lessons. MY ds (2.5 yo) has been taking lessons for last year and he doesn't use any of them. I think the others are great for safety but gives the kids false security.

Same here, lessons are your best bet. My almost 3 yo is swimming on her own and has been in lessons for a while. I do put swimmies on her sometimes but she can already swim.

the puddle jumper - the vest with chest band and arm floaties has helped my son swim on his own

but as above swim lessons are important but floats are fine but it is good to show them they sink every now and then a little fear of water is not a bad thing

This.

Definitely not arm floaties. I agree with the false sense of security.

The kids at the YMCA start out with a belt with some buoyancy slabs on it. Then they take them off one by one as the kid gets better.
