Bermuda vs Bahamas
DH and I are thinking of going away for 4 nights in May. We have narrowed it down to the Atlantis in the Bahamas or the Fairmont Hamilton Princess in Bermuda. I've been to the Atlantis twice before so I know what that is all about. I've never been to Bermuda before and heard it is nice. Sometimes I'm leaning towards the Bahamas because of the warmer weather but other times towards Bemuda because it is new. Any thoughts? I guess if someone has been to both that would be ideal!! TIA

Re: Bermuda vs Bahamas
I have been to both.
The Atlantis has a lot for families ages 5-80 (active) but I would only go there with kids that are 5 and older. It is not stroller friendly. It is not wheel chair friendly.
The Fairmont Hamilton Princess is a beautiful hotel and the high tea is outstanding (it is worth going for this alone), but I think it is better suited to a couple or a family with a young child, or a teen that wants to relax on the beach. The island has a cute aquarium with a small zoo, Hamilton is really nice to walk around. The caves are real and fantastic.
I think the service levels, quality of the hotel, amenities, and food presentation/taste is pretty similar in terms of price and quality. In my mind the Atlantis is a man made version (a little more extreme) than what the Princess and the island has to offer. They are similar vacations but both have their charms. The difference is the Atlantis feels more action pact/casual and the Princess feels more relaxed, but formal at the same time.

Thanks. We just booked Bermuda! We really wanted to try something new and we read such nice things about Bermuda! And we got a decent deal on the flight and the hotel (as decent as I can imagine since it is pricey). I can't wait! We don't have kids so I think we made the right choice!
