Belly sleeping & a pacifier
So Ryan now takes a paci (started in church at his baptism Saturday!) and rolls over back to belly starting yesterday morning. Last night, that's all he wanted to do - roll. I was watching him in his video monitor and he just kept rolling - back to belly, then get stuck, work it out, roll belly to back. Ok, I guess it's fun ? My problem is at one point I went in to sooth him, he was stuck with an arm lodged under his belly so I flipped him back to his back and gave him a paci. He immediately flipped back over to his belly and went right to sleep - basically with his face is in his mattress and a paci in between them. He was sleeping so soundly but I was freaked out so after a few minutes of staring at the monitor, I went back in and got in there, jiggled the paci loose and woke him (not purposely). What do you do in this situation - if your baby can get to their belly, I know you can leave them there - but what about when they're sleeping face into a mattress with a paci in?

Re: Belly sleeping & a pacifier
I have been dealing with this exact thing for a few weeks now
Everyone, including the pediatric neurologist my mom works for, said it is normal and they will learn to turn their head to the side. Until then, we need to help show them the way. Does not lead to fun nights.
Is he able to lift his head up when he is on his belly?

Rylan sleeps on his belly. If his face is in the mattress to much I will just try to turn it. Not easy to do though!!
I've been trying to teach Rylan how to roll...so not working...lol.

I don't even mind his face in the mattress if he settles it there b/c he can lift it and roll, but I don't like the paci in his mouth too - but that combo seemed to be working for him

Re: Belly sleeping & a pacifier
I have been dealing with this too
Nina keeps rolling on her belly with her face in the mattress and just the paci between. After waking her up a few times, I have now mastered turning her head without waking her.
