Belly Measurement?
Everyone keeps asking me how my belly is measuring, I guess because people think I am big for how far along I am. I am in my 32nd week and my doctor has never measured my stomach. I am finding more and more that it seems to be standard to take measurements. Is there anyone else in their 3rd tri who doesnt have their belly measured? I have a feeling it's just my Dr slacking. Every appt I go for I have to wait a min of an hr and then she rushes me out of the room- I will be in there with her for pretty much 5 mins, if that.

My OB has told me she can tell by looking at my belly how big it's measuring. Sometimes she still measures but she doesn't always. On the other hand my nurse practitioner will measure every time. I'm sure if your OB was concerned about the size, they would measure. Maybe at your next appt you can ask them?

This is my second pregnancy and both times I've never been measured. I'm 31 weeks. They also told me you can't tell by the size of a woman's stomach, some people with tiny bellies have big babies

I was measured with my first pregnancy ~ I haven't been measured yet (I honestly forgot when they start that)

I'm 21 wks, w/my 1st, and I have never had my belly measured. I always assumed this was something that was done later in the pregnancy. I dont know why my doctor doesn't do it but I will ask at my next appt.

I am always measured, except for the time when I saw the nurse. She SUCKED though.

I'm always measured, but I don't know how much it means so some docs might be comfortable with just eye-balling it.
My belly is measuring a few weeks ahead, but since it was the same with my first they aren't really concerned. They just recently sent me for an early growth sono to double-check that everything is ok & they found that my fluid is slightly high again with this pg, but pretty much blew it all off saying that I just seem to be one of those women that carries high, big & with a lot of fluid. So they measured me, found I'm "off" and it still doesn't seem to mean anything, which makes me think that eye-balling it might be perfectly fine too

I was measured today for the first time at 30 weeks... NP said I was 30cm which is right on point for how far along I am... Why dont you just ask your doc why you arent getting these measurements?

I have brought that up to my doc since when I had a different doc they measured me. She said that she can tell with her hands. and she does always feel my belly.

I was measured for the first time at 28 weeks. Yesterday again at 30 and I believe the measurement was 28
