Bellport

Anyone know about the area? From my understanding it consists of a really rich part and a really poor part and the schools are not good. DH thinks they are redoing the area and it will be getting better.
I do not know where he gets his information from.
Any feedback would be great. TIA

Your information sounds correct to me. The schools are not good, and the area is very, very wealthy south of Montauk Hwy, and very poor with a lot of crime to the north. I have not seen signs of the poorer part improving.

I have a co-worker who lives in the district , and the schools are NOT good at all.

I live in E Patchogue, down the 'road' from Bellport, we are off of S. Country and the 'area' is nice....And Bellport village is nice, and there are the rich and the poor and our school district is South Country (Bellport). The elememtary school is suppose to be GREAT, a friend of mine works in the district and said that is a great school, but then moving up it is not that good, she sent her son then to a private school once he was on his way to Jr High, but now he asked to back to the public school, so he is. My neice is now going to Bellport HS and really likes it (she transferred there from the Babylon area). My child will be in the school district and I seriously have mixed emotions about it all, but I still have a few years and a few options. But we are close to the water, we love our neighborhood and if our child needs to go to a private school when the time arrives, then thats what it will be....
