Being new in the neighborhood

How long did it take before you met your neighbors? We have been in our house a little over a week and we haven't seen or met our neighbors...

Re: Being new in the neighborhood

We're not living in our house yet but went over on Tuesday and spent the day doing stuff after closing on Monday. I met neighbors from around the block at the pool when I walked down there to try out the pool key and met the across the street neighbors too. The guy was on his lawn and came right over to shake my hand and introduce himself and then his wife came out and did too.

No one else was around - neighborhood was very quiet!

Re: Being new in the neighborhood

a few of our neighbors came out to greet us right away before we officially moved in. (the man across the street is like the mayor of the block- he knows everything about everyone! lol).

but we still only know a small handful of people on our block.

i work in the community we moved to, so i know people in the neighborhood.

We are in a community, so we met our neighbors pretty quickly. We are very close with my next door neighbors.

Re: Being new in the neighborhood

We haven't met anyone yet - which I thought was strange - on Tuesday DH was out mowing the lawn (I was sleeping - I work nights) and the old homeowner came by (shes friends with the people across the street) to drop off an additonal garage door opener.. and DH was talking to her in the driveway.. WHILE the neighbors were on the other side of their fence, they kept popping their heads over to look, but no one said anything... Chat Icon

We moved into an 'older' neighborhood... the previous homeowners were here and had the house built nearly 40 years ago and I can only imagine they all have been here that long.. I want to make them cookies and drop them off one day with DH.. I don't know if thats strange though as it normally is the other way around...Chat Icon

Three of my neighbors introduced themselves the very first day we were at the house. We met two others within the first month. Great people - most of them are about our parents' age. I wish there were a few more families with children around!
