being induced
is anyone planning on being induced? is that something a dr. will do if you ask?
i was just thinking about this last night. DH is a merchant marine and goes out to see for 3 weeks at a time. Right now he is trying to juggle his schedule so that he'll have 4 weeks off in a row when the baby is born. But he has to schedule it now and there's not to much leeway. So his time off might start a week or so before my due date, but if i deliver late, he'll have practically no time home with the baby.

You can discuss this with your doctor. Of course, the baby could come earlier than you plan too. The doctor cannot induce too early though.
the issue is that with induction is an increased risk of c/s. So you need to understand all of the risks of induction as well.
I am surprised that your husband's unit will not allow him time "off" during this important time. That is terrible IMO.

We are choosing not to induce but my Dr. said he would induce me anytime after 39 weeks.

he's a merchant marine, which is different from a US Marine. He works for a private company. He works 3 weeks on and 3 weeks off. There's no vacation time or days off, his schedule is what it is. To get the right time off, he has to get someone to switch up weeks iwth him.

I was induced with my DS. My Dr. does it mainly because he's the only Dr. in the practice.
I was planning onm being induced again but this little guy has been giving me some problems so I have a scheduled c-section date.
