Bedrest is the funnest!
NOT! And it's just the first day.
My cervix is short (2.7) so I'm on meds and bedrest. I go back Monday to see if it lengthened and how the babies are doing with the meds.
And my shower was planned for Sunday. We had to postpone it. :(
I can't get comfy in my bed and I'm still crampy from laying (and I've just always been crampy during my pregnancy even when my cervix was fine). And it doesn't help that I need to get up to pee every 45 minutes.
I ended up going to L&D last night because my stomach was tightening although I had no pain. They sent me home because I only had a few contractions and just some irritability so it's not Pre term labor (Thank God).
Oh and everyone is annoying me but that's nothing new. Lol

Oh been there done that, I know exactly how you feel! this was me 3 years ago. I was on it for 3 months. Started as moderate, then strict, then hospital. I was put on hospital bedrest the day before my shower, it was already too late to postpone so that had the shower without me.
I watched TV and slept. SVU marathons were the highlight of my day and I remember that summer Ted Kennedy died I watched endless hours of coverage of the funeral.
Get some magazines and a lap top. During the week my husband also used to pack a cooler and leave it on his side of the bed with enough water for me for the day, granola bars and other assorted snacks.
Just follow the doctor's orders and this will be a distant memory soon. It sucks but it is what is best for you and the babies.

Oh man I know that well. I was on and off bedrest my entire twin pregnancy.
Just listen to your drs and keep those babies in there as long as possible.
TV marathons, laptop, books, etc
and I agree with the pp have your dh pack you a cooler with some drinks and food to really limit how much you get up.
Hang in there...it is all worth it in the end!

I was on bedrest with DD#1. It is very tough. Do you have any friends who can come by? That was what got me thru. They came over and made me laugh and made the day go faster

i was put on hospital bed the week of my shower. we had to postpone the shower. it was good we did because i ended up delivering the day before when the shower was supposed to be (33w).
sorry to hear, it def sucks, but is ABSOLUTELY worth it.

Thanks ladies! ILs are bringing over a mini fridge so I'll have my water and fruit. Its so hard to sit around all day. And if I'm not laying it's too much pressure. I hope it's not a bad sign that the meds aren't working :(

I'm sorry you have to go through all that and have your shower postponed. That doesn't sound fun at all

If the meds aren't working they should be able to make the dosage closer together. At one point the meds were barely working anymore and my doctor told me to take them like every 4 hours or something I can't remember. Maybe ask about that.

Oh and I went to my shower and I was laying down in a lounge chair the whole time. Interesting way to do it but so glad I got to go. That may be an option for you too

The dr told me I'm not allowed to leave my house. I had to go upstairs and stay there til I have my next apt. I cant leave until my apt mon. We postopned the shower. We will choose a date once we know if and when I'm making progress. At this point i wouldnt mind if it's closer to 34/36 weeks since they wont keep me on bedrest then. If I ended up having the babies on/around the date, i'd send dh and that would be that. No more postponing.
