Bedding - How much is too much?
I just bought new bedding and everyone is telling me I'm nuts. I need a reality check here because I know I'm not. How much do you typically spend on bedding and how often do you buy a new set?
I bought a 20-piece set for $173. My sheets alone typically cost $60! My old set was 3 years old and I don't rotate them according to season or anything, so I think that's plenty long to keep one set. Am I nuts?
Here's the bedding I bought in case anyone is curious.

IMO that is not expensive, I have spent $150+ on a comforter alone + all the shams, skirt, etc...
If you love it, don't feel guilty just think you have to look at it everyday and not sure about you, but there is nothing like getting into a nice cozy bed at night

That's not alot at all...,like the pp, I spend more than that on just a duvet and two shams. As long as you like it.

Your bedroom and bed is supposed to be your sanctuary!!
That's one place I say you can splurge on and I don't think the amount you spent is a splurge at all.
Make it a place you LOVE going to at the end of a long day.

I don't think that's too much at all.
Now, for the number of pillows, that might be a bit much. This coming from a girl who spent $700 on a bedding ensemble which sits on our guest bed because I got tired of dealing with all the pillows.

For 20 pcs...I think that is a steal!
The last bedding 'set' (in quotes b/c it wasn't a set) I bought consisted of the following: 2 flat sheets, 2 fitted sheets, 4 pillowcases, 2 pillow shams, 1 blanket and 1 duvet cover...for 10x the price you paid. Luckily Bloomies was having a ridiculous sale and we got it all for $600.
So no, I'm the crazy one!

I just got a very similar set from Boscov's but only 11 pieces and it was about $120 so I think the price is fine (a good price even). Not too much at all - but I do have expensive taste

Not nuts at all. I splurged on a comforter and 2 shams from Pottery Barn and it was more than that (had GCs so it wasn't a lot, but $173 is a terrific price!)

My set from Anthro was like $200 and that was after I waited for it to go on sale. So no, this is a great price!
