I had this person call in and ask why they received an error message. I explained everything to them and turns out it was a script error. They responded with "why". I explained a bit more without getting too techinical. They responded with "why" I decided to dumb it down a little and explained it where hopefully they would understand. And their response "why" At this point I decided well you want to be a child I can play that game too and I said well thats just how computers are. They responded "why" So I said "Because I said so" Their response "thank you"

Sometimes people are just ridiculous. I had a guy call me once when I was working and asked me how I determined that he qualified for the magazine. He actually wanted me to explain the quantifiers and qualifiers in the matrix we use. UM, seriously, why does this affect your life. He also got a because I said so

I was talking to one of our CS Reps yesterday when she got a phone call from a customer who couldn't find the instructions.
CS: Did you look in the box?
Customer: Oh, I didn't look in the box yet....yup, there it is, it's in the box.


I could never do it, I give you girls a lot of credit. Sadly, many of our customers are doctors who call up with the stupidest problems.
