Beachy New England towns

I'm thinking next summer I would like to do a 3 day weekend in a cute New England town.

I'm thinking somewhere we could rent a boat, have a clam bake, go to the beach, etc.

Kids will be 4 and almost 2..any suggestions/hotels/etc?

I don't have any suggestions on hotels, but my cousins spend their summers in the Rockland/Rockport area of Maine (they bought a vacation home up there a couple of years ago). The love it up there.

Re: Beachy New England towns

My brother lives on the Cape and I feel like all the towns there would fit this. And it's not too far from here (4ish hours).

Re: Beachy New England towns

My friend lives in Hampton Beach, NH, 3 blocks from the ocean.

It's a short drive to Portsmouth and we walked over the bridge to Maine.
Seafood Festival takes place the weekend after Labor Day, it's hard to get a hotel room that weekend.

The Cape is nice too, that's where DH and I got engaged. We stayed in Chatham and explored all over.

Beachy New England towns

Madison, CT. Only 2 hours from Nassau County, off of exit 61 on I-95. They have 4 beaches, restaurants on the water, an ice cream place with a carousel, free family movie nights on the beach, 2 outlet malls are right there. It's a super cute place.
