be careful if updating to iOs on your iphone..
i just lost a ton of stuff, and was told there's no way to get it back
apparently their servers got overloaded, and a lot of people (myself included) lost a lot of information/pics/etc. from their phones
so be careful!!

I wish I saw this post before I updated...I synced my phone right before I did the update but it looks like I lost all of the appointments in my calendar...this should be interesting...

I bought a back up program that I dled online before I did the switch over.
Thank GOD I did because I would've lost everything!
In ios' defense...it warned me before I did it.
I had a whole other mess though, I had to move my itunes over to a new computer because my old one didn't have the space to accommodate the update...it took the entire weekend. My husband HATES ios! haha

are you sure you did the update right? as soon as you plug into itunes your phone gets auto-synced and backed up. when ios5 initially loaded it appeared as though i lost everything but i just had to restore from my backup and got all my old info back on ios5...

I'm confused - iTunes tells you to sync your phone before you do the update, so everything should already have been saved to iTunes if you did so

ya i'm positive..even the apple tech guys told me i did it right..it's a massive problem they're having right now, and they claim that it's because too many people are attempting to update at once (not sure if i believe that, but w/e)..everything was "backed up", but the phone wiped part of itself out in the process..who know how it actually happened but it's been widespread

It is so weird. All my appointments copied themselves, so I have them double. AND they changed to 3 hours later. All of them, 3 hours later. It is as if I changed time zones.

Try wiping the phone to factory settings then make sure you chose the latest backup to restore from. That fixed any problems we were having.

You should ALWAYS BACK UP your phone before doing ANYTHING on your phone. that way, you can recover everything!
.. mine had to be restored as well when I updated it last week as weoo..
I'm sorry that happened to you!:(

Ladies try syncing your phone again...I was so desperate to get my appointments back that I tried syncing my phone again this morning and all of my appointments are back!

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!! It always gives me issues with backing up before I update so I skip it, and it was never really an issue before...but now I have DS....and a TON of pics and video of him....definitely going to do as recommended from now on. Even if I have to sync like 3 times before I update. Thank you, thank you, thank you....it would have ruined my week if I lost them.
