BD'ing question at 37 weeks
Ok, so I'll be 37 weeks this week. I was 50% effaced last week when I went to the doctor, no dilation. I know my DH will want to BD still the next couple of weeks since it's closed for business after labor. My question is does BD'ing really induce labor? I don't want to go into Labor before June 1 b/c we're moving! I feel stupid asking my Dr.

I believe that the semen thins out the cervix (is that right girls?)
You can always have him pull out

It can be true *if * your body is ready.
My experience with BDing leading to labor:
My first son: we BDed all the friggin time. I had to be induced ON my due date. My OB at the time told me that BDing would "probably" get things started.
My second son: we BDed all the friggin time. My water broke @ 38 weeks after my midwife told me that my cervix was *favorable* and that if I wanted the baby out, BDing *might* get things moving.
Its a crapshoot.

I agree otherwise bd'ing would be out of the question before you reach full term. If your body is already getting ready for labor than b'ding MIGHT help things along. I don't believe there is any scientific fact supporting this theory.

Yup. In fact, apparently that's how all the little "tricks" actually work...eating certain foods and what not really only "work" if you were about to go into labor anyway. I've tried reasoning with my baby, but it's not listening...I've bribed it with everything from a nice warm bed to a puppy...still in my belly!

Semen and also a womens ****** can release oxy something or other which is what creates the uterus to contract at labor time, so yes theres a strong possibility in some cases it can create or cause labor to start.
Everyones different, no one elses experiences are gonna help you know if you will go into labor or not when this happens....
