bday party starting at 1

thinking about dd's 6th bday. They start at 1 fro 1.5 hours. Its a Zumba dance party. My guess is they dance for 1 hour then eat and have cake for the last 30 mins.

Would you do food? Like Pizza? Or can I get away with just cake at 2 pm and put cake only on the invite? I am not sure as this is my first kiddie party

I think it is unfortunate that birthday parties for kids have turned into events where the expectation is that the entire family attending will be fed a meal. I would write cake will be served in the invite. I would have to feed my kid lunch before a party that started at 1.

thank you for your answer. My kids would most definitely eat lunch if they were invited to a 1 pm party as well. I don't know i don't think my kids would eat Pizza at 2 pm it's just a weird time for a full meal.

I may just do some snacks and cake for the 30 mins

I would have pizza for the kids. Some parents might not want to feed kids right before the are running/jumping/dancing around. Also after an hour of Zumba I'm sure plenty of them will be hungry and appreciate a slice of pizza.
