Bday party near Christmas
My dd is really excited for a bday party, but she's a December baby and my DH works Saturdays. She's turning 5. What do you think is least interfering for people's holiday plans:
Sunday morning early December (i.e. 10:30) Sat/sun early Jan (worried about snow) Friday late afternoon 12/29 when schools are closed Sunday morning of NYE (i.e. 10:30)

I don't think any would interfere with holiday plans, but many people may be away on 12/29 & 12/31. A lot of people take vacation time that week. I would opt for either early December or early January. Snow is a threat in December too, and you can always ask the party place if they will let you reschedule the party for a week or 2 later in the event of a bad snow storm.

Early December. Stinks to have people go away. January is also an option.

Option 1 or 2 . MY DD"s bday is mid dec and I have always held it on the weekend either right before or right after her bday and have had great turn outs (like 90 percent of the kids I invited said yes even though I often hoped for more no rsvps bc I was way over the 'package number' as it was lol). I have always done it in the morning though. I prefer early morning parties regardless of the time of year bc otherwise I feel it cuts the day. One year we did it on like Dec 27 (fell on a weekend) - we got a great deal and everyone showed up except for 1 or 2 people who were out of town-- I think people were holiday'd out and glad to be able to do something with their kids other than get together with family and eat !!!

Re: Bday party near Christmas
I think 12/29. I have had a bad turnout for morning parties early in December. However, my friend's sons party was over Christmas break and everyone came because they wanted to get out with the kids.

Re: Bday party near Christmas
12/29 Some people might be away but I think most would love to have something to occupy the kids over winter break.

I agree with this except.. Its a Friday and many parents who work are probably still working that day even if it is a holiday week.

I would think option 1 is best. The holidays are hectic enough, plus the further into dec/Jan you go the more chance there is for snow.
