BCP for IVF?
How long do you usually have to take BCP when starting an IVF cycle?
We are thinking of maybe taking a month off before starting IVF, but want to know if it benefits us to use that "break" time to start BCP?

Re: BCP for IVF?
I am using it for approx 3 weeks until I start Lupron. Just started on Saturday! I think it may vary depending on protocol. My last cycle I did not use BCP, just Lupron to suppress.

I was on it for 2 weeks. They usually put you on it for 3 but my levels were good enough to stop after the 2nd week

Re: BCP for IVF?
Do you know if they are putting you on Lupron as well? I am doing a whole new protocol this time around and just wondering if others do BCP and Lupron?

Not really sure yet. To be honest I have a beta tomorrow, but as usual hping for the best and preparing for the worst. But I do know that we are definitely moving into IVF.

Re: BCP for IVF?
i was on it for 24 days. i would say if you are taking time off anyway just do the BCP during that time (IF that's your protocol, not all IVFs use BCP). that way when the month is over you can jump right into IVF and you'll be at retrieval and transfer within 3 weeks. otherwise its more like a 6-8 week process. good luck!

Re: BCP for IVF?
First IVF, i was on BC for 3 weeks, and ovulated straight thru them This time around, i was on them for 2 months, and I just passed my suppression check So it worked! I agree with flower, start taking them asap, BC is the longessssssssssssssssssttttt part of IVF.
