BBQs/Block parties with an active toddler
DS is approaching 2. We have been to a number of social things this summer where we just chase him around the entire time. Its almost not even fun. Last night I went to dinner at my aunt's house and I dont think I even talked to anyone.
This does get easier right? I guess Im just sad because its summer, and I almost don't want to go to anything else until he turns 3!!!

I could have written this myself. Word for word.
I have no advice- I can only sympathize with you because I am going through the same thing. I hope it does get easier because it is rough!

It does get easier when they turn 3. All last summer it was chasing & now this year my 3 year old is fine, but I have an active 14 month old Hang in there

I agree with you - we have an almost 2 year old and a 9 month old. Parties equate chasing after the older one and keeping the little one happy :)
I think once they are a little more social and aware it will get easier.

I call this "hell week" - You know, that last week of sorority pledging that is just MISERABLE - you know there's an end in sight, but you just have to suck it up as part of the deal -
I couldn't WAIT for him to walk - now I'm like "PLEASE !! Sit down for 5 SECONDS !!"

I have a 10 week old. Luckily, hes very easy going. Its my older one thats giving me gray hairs lately. I know hes not bad, I guess I just didnt expect this.
