Bathroom remodel
Anyone do floor to ceiling tile int he whole bathroom? DH wants this, but I have anxiety over it, I feel like it will make the room look smaller, and the bathroom is small as it is.
We ordered a porcelin slate looking tile. I called to put the order on hold, because I need a design to make the bathroom look larger.

Re: Bathroom remodel
When we're re-doing our master bath, we're only going to do tiles halfway up the walls, but all the way to the ceiling in the shower. I agree with you though, I think tiles all the way to the cieling might make it feel smaller (if it's not in a shower).

Since the tiles are rectangualr and big, the sales guy said it would actually make the bathroom look bigger, but I can't picture it.
It's such a big decision, and I don't want to hate it in the end.

Re: Bathroom remodel
My aunt and uncle have them floor to ceiling. It looks good in their bathroom, but they have a pretty big bathroom. They also have them half way up the wall in the master bath, it also looks really nice. They have light ceramic tile, with borders and accent tiles.
I have porcelain tile in my bathroom, only in the bath area. It's a little darker and I'm not sure if that would look good on the walls. It has a little bit of a textured look so it doesn't look exactly even like ceramic tile. I like it though. I have it in a brick pattern.
If you can, I would have them do the shower wall first so you see how you like it.

Re: Bathroom remodel
We just redid our bathroom with floor to ceiling tile (larger rectangular tiles, I think the size was something like 8" x 16", but not sure at all). I love the way it looks and def do not think it makes the room look smaller. The tile guy told us the same thing - small er tiles would make the room look smaller, but with the larger tiles, it looks great.

Re: Bathroom remodel
We did this in our half bath. We used a light colored tile. It came out really nice. My MIL just did this in her full bath (which is small) and it looks great.
